Malini Suryanarayanan | | Great Suman. I am now in Chennai too, maybe a foodie meet up in Marina?
What do other sigfoodies from Chennai have to say?

Vikr@m Mavinkurve | | Talk about coincidences! I am headed to Chennai on Feb 07 and then onwards to Pondicherry!
Thereafter off to Goa Feb 13 and finally back in Mumbai on Feb 20.
Since it's my first time in Pondicherry, request input on restaurant suggestions/recommendations to sample while I am there.
Thanks AllPrivate Reply to Vikr@m Mavinkurve |

Vikr@m Mavinkurve | | Almost done with my Pondicherry trip, visited several excellent restaurants, and a lengthy report will be uploaded, as soon as I get access to decent broadband connectivity!
Am off to Goa on Feb. 13th, another food fest awaits & consequently a whole other food report will be made!Private Reply to Vikr@m Mavinkurve |

Saritha Rao | | All these are family places and favourites at home.
PONDICHERRY - Le Club Restaurant - slightly pricey, but great ambience. Good food.
Rendezvous Restaurant - very slow service especially on weekends and when the place is crowded, but out-of-this-world sizzlers. I am yet to find better. My non-veggi friends loved it too.
MADRAS (Chennai) - - Eden Vegetarian in Besant Nagar or inside Harrisons Hotel, Chetput - great multicuisine place - all veg - some fantastic continental.
- Saravana Bhavan - many outlets - great mini tiffin that has, I think, miniature portions of idli, dosa, vada along withS sambar, chutney, and a sweet too. Depending on outlet and if going in evening, try the hot masala milk.
- Cornucopia - CHamiers Road (not sure if it still exists) - great continental, almost gourmet food.
- Dhaba Express - Chamiers Road - usual Punjabi fare but great Jalebis.
- Some great coffee places are Chamiers (Anokhi) near Boat Club area and Amethyst (Sundar mahal) in Jeypore Colony, Royapettah. These are old bungalows that have been put to great use. The fare is pricey (according to me), but it's awesome to hang out with friends. You get coffee, some pastas, soups, sandwiches, light eats and awesome baked desserts.
Cheers! SarithaPrivate Reply to Saritha Rao |
