Chandrashekhar | | Shiok version 1.0 closes on June 16th, version 2.0 opens in a month
As we told you last time, Shiok is moving to a bigger, better location. The new restaurant will have much more of a fine dining look than the old one, and our new cocktail lounge will be three times as big. It's on 96, Amarjyothi Layout, Inner Ring Road, which to regular people means about 100 metres away from the end of the Ring Road flyover on the Koramangala side, right at the sign pointing to Royal Orchid Hotel. (Look out for our "coming soon" sign when you're stuck in one of Bangalore's wonderful persistent traffic jams.)
Sadly, these means that the old Shiok on CMH Road must shut down for us to start moving our stuff over.
So, dear patron, June 15th, 2008, will be the last day that Shiok, CMH Road, stays open. Come Monday, we will be shut till the new place re-opens.
I hope we can see some of you this weekend before we close. As you know, rising prices and government-imposed licence fees have taken their toll, but this weekend, you can still enjoy our food at 2005 prices (when we last set the menu), and our honest cocktails at prices like Rs. 175, when many places would charge double that.
